This Director, Global Process Management is responsible for the global end-to-end processes for Order to Cash (OTC). He or she will provide business process improvement capabilities to advance the implementation of a multi-divisional enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other enabling technologies with a focus on the order management and accounts receivables/credit/collection processes, and an emphasis on end-to-end process optimization and standardization across the business and corporate functions, including IT.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish and sustain end-to-end process and data accountability, chairing the Process Council for global, OTC end-to-end processes.

  • Establish and sustain Process Change Control for OTC end-to-end process.

  • Act as the global process and data standards sponsor for the OTC thread process area, provide leadership for end-to-end process area operations across retained Abbott and captive and outsourced shared services organizations.

  • Working in a matrixed environment, assure the regional teams follow global direction to ensure standardization.

  • Set the strategic direction for global process design.

  • Work directly with the ERP program, shared services operations teams and retained Abbott divisional functions as the business owner of the end-to-end process to develop overall business strategy and prioritization of initiatives.

  • Lead the process harmonization/business systems, working in combination with Business Relation Managers (BRM) to drive the associated end-to-end process strategies and gain buy-in from key stakeholders.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships; Act as a liaison with Abbott Division and Corporate business partners, Shared Services management, and other customers.

  • Identify, drive and monitor continuous improvement related to the OTC process area and create opportunities to bring service innovation to Abbott across the end-to-end process.

  • Ensure adequate and timely root cause analysis to understand problem drivers and implementation of necessary corrections and/or changes.

  • Define and agree KPIs as well as performance measures associated with the end-to-end process; Benchmark the process performance, and establish the mechanisms to manage performance over time.

  • Work closely with Business Process Management Executive for leadership responsibilities related to business strategy, business case development, and business design decision making.

  • Work with and be supported by functional process managers (FPM) for both strategic and legacy business process and systems in the divisions/countries and shared services operations.

  • Identify and lead opportunities for change management at a senior level is which is essential for securing buy-in from senior management.

  • Must be viewed as the process leader within the Order to Cash (OTC) function and other organizations associated with the end-to-end process; Position will be responsible for influencing all levels of Abbott, from executive to staff members across the commercial, finance (Division/Finance executives, Finance Controllers, Commercial General Managers, etc.) and operating unit’s business management at the Corporate, Division, Region, Area, and Country levels.

  • Interact effectively with leaders of support functions as new processes are designed and implemented (Information technology, Internal/external audit, legal, compliance, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial systems, finance, technology or related business process management field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred

  • 12+ years of experience in commercial systems, finance, technology or related business process management field

  • Proven track record managing people and teams

  • Deep knowledge of global markets
