Primary Job Function
The Global Manager Quality IT systems will be the Global EPD QA Business Process Owner for the Established Pharmaceutical Division Informational Technology (IT) Systems that drive key quality processes, to ensure safe, efficacious and quality products can be supplied in accordance to regulatory and business requirements. The role has global responsibility to provide strategic and functional leadership in support of Global Quality IT Systems’ tactical objectives and long range goals. Ensure the development and implementation of efficient, effective, and compliant global processes, procedures, and systems that incorporate best practices and risk mitigation strategies. Provides IT governance to ensure centralized IT system expertise and services to customers.
Core Job Responsibilities
Develops and executes the Global IT Strategy. Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Provide leadership in the development of quality improvement strategies and tactics, drive opportunities, standardize, and optimize quality IT Systems across the global organization.
Represents EPD on Corporate IT initiatives linking business process knowledge with knowledge of the IT system. Responsible for EPD QA executive leadership approval for all Corporate and Division IT related documents and projects plans.
Effectively leads and works with cross functional teams to explore and implement business and customer improvement opportunities including cost reduction measures, quality and productivity improvements.
Leads Integration projects to integrate acquired Businesses into the Abbott Quality System by defining the strategy and assessing best practices within Abbott and the acquired business to ensure a system fit for purpose is implemented.
Keeps current on developments within related domains of expertise, regulatory environment, and changes in governmental policies within domain of responsibility and provide support for transition into the EPD relevant Global IT Quality systems.
Position Accountability / Scope
This position reports to EPD Global Sr Manager Global Quality Systems
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum Experience/ Knowledge Required
10 years in a Quality-related position in the pharmaceutical industry
Knowledge of relevant regulations for quality systems and compliance.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality system processes
Capable of analysing data in order to support the development of strategies to effectively manage the action plans that will resolve the issues.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to organize work in a logical, thorough and succinct manner.
Strong leadership skills, along with, strong financial acumen in order to translate EPD Business requirements into financial terms.
Extensive knowledge of worldwide IT systems and regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and ability to effectively prioritize.
