The IT Business Relationship Manager is a key role to develop and execute IT strategies for manufacturing operations, engineering, and product quality globally. Candidates who apply must:

  • Understand global business strategies and capabilities for manufacturing and laboratory environments.

  • Ensure that organization has the capabilities and resources required to support the specific business function/geography

  • Understand current market/changing technology trends

  • Develop roadmaps containing sequencing of IT solutions working towards the achievement of the business strategies. (3-5 year)

  • Identify standardization of processes and support solutions

  • Work with the business function/geography and IT corporate functions to develop project business cases and value realization processes

  • Facilitate understanding and support the buy-in of the functional roadmap to key stakeholders in the function/geography

  • Regularly communicate status of solutions and services for the specific function/geography

  • Identify and control IT functional / geography costs

  • Assess the current and future risk profile of the function/geography

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with senior business management to align and understand business strategies and develop plans for each business function/geography.

  • Collaborate with senior business management on the IT strategy to assess and establish priorities on global/regional/local initiatives.

  • Work with senior business management to identify critical vs. nice-to-have functionality to promote re-use of existing solutions (application rationalization) and process alignment

  • Enable IT to know technological expectations from business viewpoint.

  • Facilitate communications flow between IT and Business (Costs/Projects/New demand/services/audits/risks).

  • Identify and manage IT Total Cost of Ownership for the specific function/geography

  • Identify and manage IT current and future function/geography IT risk profile

  • Ensure good project governance & execution, partnering with corporate IT function, with monthly reporting ensuring justification of deviations and providing feedback to functional stakeholders.

Project Portfolio – Demand Management

  • Work with senior business managers to assess and establish priorities on business IT initiatives.

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive portfolio of IT investments for the business area and ensure alignment and integration into the enterprise IT strategy and Project Portfolio Management.

  • Actively detect and manage business process improvement & standardization and decision making support requirements.

  • Challenge and improve alignment of the business requirements with regional or global templates

Strategic Focus – Manufacturing, Engineering, and Laboratory Testing

  • Ensure supply chain priorities are communicated to IT community.

  • Communicate IT strategies to business executives.

  • Provide strategic consultancy support to assigned customers in filtering, defining or designing business processes and requirements.

  • Research and identify enabling solutions, best practices and technologies to proactively address customer requirements

Project Execution

  • Ensure appropriate communication of project progress, changes, and milestones

  • Ensure understanding of proper best practices, standards and guidelines that apply to the business.

  • Assist the business during the tracking of benefits after projects implementation.

  • Work collaboratively with the corporate IT solution Delivery organization to ensure alignment of IT demand and supply for the business areas and oversee the delivery of related IT initiatives.

  • Accomplish project objectives within constraints of the project, with responsibility for the outcome (success or failure) of the project from project execution and business result perspectives.

  • Support planning, controlling and monitoring, and manage/direct assigned project resources to best meet project objectives

  • Identify, monitor, and respond to risk, issues and dependencies.

  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level

Financial Accountability

  • Financial implications of the applications ranging up to $10 MM.

  • Cumulative project budgets ranging up to $10 MM and 500 - 5,000 users

Organizational Accountability

  • 6 direct reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration or another discipline relevant for the healthcare industry or equivalent experience.

  • 10-12 years of IT and manufacturing plant experience in large or midsized multinational health care or consumer goods organization.

  • Broad and deep knowledge in supply chain business processes and technologies with a focus in manufacturing systems

  • Familiarity with all technologies used or to be used by the Functional area is required

  • Previous experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems is preferred

  • Working knowledge of the following systems is desired (POMS, SAP, Infinity QS Proficient SPC, Rockwell Factory Talk, Emerson)

  • Experience in partnering with TPM partners for business and IT initiatives desired

  • Experience in setting IT or business strategy and business IT alignment

  • Working knowledge of digital supply chain trends

  • Strong project management skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in the strategic use of process improvements and IT as an enabler of business initiatives and business solutions

  • Good communication, logical thinking, decision making and problem solving abilities

  • Proven leadership and management skills

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all management levels

  • Strong ability to collaborate, influence and build consensus.

  • Experience with GxP validation.
