This Senior Manager, Talent Development has responsibility for global operations of the Professional Development Program (PDP) as well as the Global Citizen Development Program.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Program Manager for Global Citizen Development Program including all Operations for that programs, onsite events, etc.

  • Manage program budget

  • Drive program project plan and report on progress

  • Drive the execution of all program logistics such as travel, venue, evening events, catering, materials, and production

  • Build program registration site and ongoing reporting

  • Liaison with program participants for questions regarding overall program, travel logistics, engagement etc.

  • Engage participants on the program social media site

  • Manage program microsite and gamification including sending out monthly gifts for progress winners

  • Program Manager for other Operations programs as needed

  • Utility player for Talent Development leveraging skills and expertise where needed for projects

  • Drives PDP Global assignment identification processes, member development planning, rotational forecasting and training and development activities required for leadership development

  • Identify and make proposals for new assignments to accelerate learning for global OPDP’s

  • Identify and make recommendations for pairing of Sr. Leader mentors (Program Managers should do mentor pairing for their geography), and engaging Sr. Leaders for multiple large annual events

  • Work with Director on informing key stakeholders program status and other key information (Executive Sponsor, GOC, BHR and other key stakeholder)s to ensure integrity and quality of program

  • Create and maintain global and area processes for onboarding

  • Collaborate with Area Delivery Managers and create and maintain area events for program participants

  • Establish processes for transition, document process flow, RACI and key stakeholders

  • Program oversight for PDP events including:

  • New Hire Orientation

  • Global PDP Week (April); In partnership with IT & Finance PDP

  • Manager Preparedness Training

  • Summer Intern Event (July)

  • US PDP Week (October); In partnership with IT & Finance PDP

  • Manage the design, planning and execution of PDP processes including:

  • Intern interview process

  • Assignment solicitation, posting and decision making

  • Development plan renewal

  • Housing solicitation, selection, assignment and move in

  • End-of-rotation performance reviews

  • Manage the planning and execution of critical PDP program tasks including:

  • Establish and manage budget annually

  • Interpret and communicate program survey and focus group data

  • Manage the design and execution of the Global PDP Program metrics strategy and plan, execute Global PDP metrics that illustrate program benefits for Abbott and participants

  • Provide annual PDP report that illustrates overall health of the program and tells the story of the PDP program, talent pipeline and potential future direction

  • Talent Development / PDP Program Tools

  • Sharepoint Administration including portal & project site

  • Create and maintain project Sharepoint site including program status, program budgets and program KPI’s

  • Process Management & Maintenance

  • Collaborate with Operations Director to create and execute a governance process and structure for all processes.

  • Maintain a standard and golden copy of all processes (SOP’s), Process Workflow (swim lane) and RACI.

  • Develop and maintain global vendor and facilitator list

  • Collaborate with Director on process of using vendors and facilitators and complete annual review process Document process and part of standard process work.

  • Create vendor standards (e.g. annual review cycles, management and communications with vendors

  • Host annual business review cycles with all program vendors

  • Financial Management

  • Provide details for PDP Program, overall and by geography (salaries, relo, travel)

  • Create analysis and other financial metrics that illustrate the benefit of the program

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years in learning and development , Talent Acquisition, HR Generalist or other HR function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Strong supplier management skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • PMP certification a plus

  • Experience in leading and managing others virtually, especially in a matrixed environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others
