Independently manages complex, long-duration projects, product improvements and investigations. Responsible to define and implement best practices for unit operations such as measuring, mixing, membrane separation and chromatography and for maintenance and improvement of existing processes and technologies.
Responsible to standardize unit operations throughout global manufacturing facilities within the Operations domain.
Contribute to and lead cross-functional efforts within Operations (such as with Product Technical Support, Production, and QA to implement improvements and new technologies.
Implement test method and process modifications, considering CQAs, critical process parameters and analytical performance characteristics.
Contribute to and lead (as needed) Manufacturing Process Communities as a platform for process monitoring and continuous improvement.
Evaluate existing process scale-down models and develop new models as needed for experimental activities. Identify needed analytical methods and work cross-functionally to implement.
Contribute to data compilation and analysis efforts to identify improvement targets based on technical, operational and quality-related metrics.
Provide diverse, independent technical data and insight to support risk management evaluation and assessment.
Understands and applies data management practices and statistical analyses.
Translates top-level goals to specific goals and aligns activities with respective strategic business priorities.
Receives infrequent direction, and provides work directions for other technical personnel.
Identifies, understands and resolves technical problems and operational issues.
Resolves issues to avoid recurrence.
Utilizes appropriate experimental, statistical and project management tools.
Applies specialized knowledge of product or process design, standardization, performance anchors and modes of control to create and review risk management files.
Maintains detailed knowledge and understanding of product or process design.
Higher Certificate, Ordinary or Honors Bachelor degree in scientific and technical field is desired or relevant combination of education and experience. 4 years’ related work experience. Advanced degree preferred. (Advanced degree(s) may offset required years of experience).
PhD in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or BS in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering with 4 or more years related work experience
Experience with unit operations such as mixing, homogeneous reaction, membrane separation, and chromatography
Experience with mathematical (kinetic) modeling and computer-based simulations
Prior experience in a highly regulated industry preferred
