  • The Workday Integration Specialist is a member of Abbott HRIS group responsible for managing all inbound and outbound integrations in Abbott Workday HCM system. He/she will provide subject matter expertise for Integrations, and will participate in meetings for problem definition, as-is and to-be process modeling, problem solving, and opportunity analysis, while providing the necessary integration components, to include systems interfaces and data migration elements. The position is also responsible for providing analytics and reporting support to the Global HR community at Abbott.

  • Design, build and administer Integration solutions for Workday system to support Human Capital Management processes

  • Responsible for design, development and implementation of analytical tools, technology and business solutions that improve HR and business decisions and that drive operational efficiency

  • Monitor integration jobs daily and provide follow-up actions/solutions for any job failures

  • Work with Functional leads for troubleshooting integration issues and resolve the issues in a timely manner

  • Work directly with functional team to confirm requirements, consider design alternatives, facilitate discussions and ultimately drive requirements sign-off

  • Evaluate, communicate and coordinate the technical impacts of application configuration decisions

  • Create detailed system interface specifications, field mapping, and system process designs

  • Develop, test and deploy integrations required to meet business requirements

  • Understand and leverage all the Integration tools – Packaged Integrations, Studio, Enterprise Integration Builder (EIB), Document Transformation, Report Writer, etc.

  • Understand customer requirements and participate with project team on the most appropriate system’s integration approaches based on customer landscape and desired outcomes

  • Responsible for data analysis and modeling, spotting data trends, performing gap analysis, generating reports, and recommending improvements to current business metric collection process

  • Design, develop and deliver timely and accurate dashboards, reports, presentations and visual aids designed to educate, inform and influence the decisions of HR clients and business leaders within Abbott

  • Provide analysis of key metrics and trends in a timely manner and recommend steps to improve efficiency and effectiveness of myHR Organization

  • Responsible for designing key dashboards and scorecards for Senior Leadership Team and HR Business Partners

  • Work with offshore technical team in Integration and Reporting area. Act as a gate keeper to ensure the quality of the work from offshore team.

  • Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to project management

Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years of total experience with at least 2 full lifecycle implementations of Workday HCM implementation

  • At least 2 years of experience with Workday Integrations and implementations

  • At least 2 years of experience with Workday Reporting and implementations

  • Advanced knowledge of XSLT for use in transformations

  • Understanding of Workday update processes and how it affects integrations

  • Knowledge and experience in applications and databases such as Active Directory, SAP, Oracle, etc., would be a huge asset

  • Knowledge in Workday Integration tools – Packaged Integrations, Workday studio, Enterprise Integration Builder (EIB), Document Transformation, Calculated Fields, and Report Writer

  • Strong fundamentals on SOA, Integration Patterns, Outbound/Inbound services from/to Workday. Understanding of Web Services standards and technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, UDDI, etc.)

  • Workday Report Writing - Should be able to develop complex Custom Reports and Calculated Fields that create the basis for integrations.

  • Ability to convert the functional requirements and design integrations and identify and map data fields, required by downstream systems, to objects in Workday.

  • Experience with Enterprise Reporting Tools and Concepts (i.e., Cognos, Business Objects, and OLAP)

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience performing analytics and reporting

  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

  • Workday Certifications preferred


• BS/BA required, advanced degree desirable
