The Sr. Finance Manager of Business Technology and Solutions (BTS) is a key leadership role within the Finance team that is closely aligned with the BTS Chief of Staff and supports strategy development as well as execution. As examples, this position coordinates the World Wide IT Spend process as well as key initiatives such Technical Currency for Abbott from a financial perspective. In addition, this position oversees financial process and activities for the BTS Infrastructure organization.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive results through innovative value creation and initiatives: Serve as business partner to BTS. Evaluate and provide recommendations, including external insights and data points, to achieve strategic imperatives and sustainability in the most efficient manner. Act as an anticipative and integrative thinker who can advise IT partners and other stakeholders.
Develop insightful and accurate financial forecasts : Ensure short and long-term financial forecasts are presented in a meaningful way. Develop, implement and oversee processes to deliver those forecasts as well as reporting of the organization’s cost and value while aligning financial impacts across Abbott in a transparent manner. Successfully manage risks and opportunities through the use of external and internal signals and data. Prepare contingency plans in advance.
Clearly communicate IT’s impact: In conjunction with IT leadership, develop and deliver clear, concise and relevant communication, including Executive Updates and Request for Capital Expenditures (RCE’s). Understand and synthesize complex, technical issues and details. Summarize with relevancy and clarity, both verbally and written.
Ensure accurate Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee financial results as provided by Corporate Financial Services (CFS). Provide clear and meaningful financial reporting. Continuously improve processes, drive standardization and leverage Shared Services. Ensure compliance and champion internal controls and procedures.
Develop talent: Attract talent and actively promote a positive, team environment by coaching and mentoring. Prioritize development and continuous learning. Support the Corporate FP&A Talent Pipeline program, including interns.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8+ years accounting and financial planning experience. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
Proficient with financial modeling, systems, tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP.
Prior IT or Operations financial support experience highly desirable.
