The Director of Market Access oversees and accountable for the global market access, pricing and reimbursement strategies for on-market products, pipeline and future technology platforms for ADC. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Market Access Insights and Strategy. The choice candidate will need to reside in the Bay Area and a commutable distance from Alameda, CA.
Map external payer environment and communicate to internal stakeholders and senior management relevant information regarding the current and future reimbursement landscape of key markets. Responsible for evaluating threats and opportunities in key markets rising out of legislation and regulation from government and/or private payers as well as competitive market access moves that can impact access of ADC products and pipeline and proactively develop strategies and plans to address the evolving reimbursement environment.
Owns evidence planning to expand reimbursement to adjacent patient segments and new markets. Guide core teams to ensure decisions to generate clinical and Real-World Evidence are taken early enough to support reimbursement and market adoption. Directs design and execution of HEOR studies to ensure alignment with business need, scientific soundness and executional excellence including publication plan in partnership with Medical Affairs
Develop and set strategy to achieve, maintain and expand market access, price and reimbursement for ADC pipeline and on-market product portfolio. Effectively leverage global payer expertise and utilize brand strategy, competitive profiles / positioning, clinical / economic data and stakeholder insights to justify product value.
Leverage internal knowledge within commercial teams and clinical / medical affairs to gather feedback from key
Develop and set strategy to achieve, maintain and expand market access, price and reimbursement for ADC pipeline and on-market product portfolio.
Effectively leverage global payer expertise and utilize brand strategy, competitive profiles / positioning, clinical / economic data and stakeholder insights to justify product value.
Leverage internal knowledge within commercial teams and clinical / medical affairs to gather feedback from key opinion leaders and map out global reimbursement pathways.
Lead cross functional initiatives and collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, R&D, Area Market Access and Affiliates to ensure solid understanding of global payer markets and emerging stakeholders in the reimbursement area and translate reimbursement requirements into product specifications and assess potential reward and risk
Contribute to product strategy by aligning reimbursement studies, primary and secondary research with product intended use.
Inform payor value proposition and establish pricing guidance for new products, indication/label expansion and new markets.
Ensure compliance with global floor price and pricing bands. Assess changes and market events, whether elective or mandatory, for risk to global pricing strategy.
Lead global payer messaging and utility of deliverables through affiliate feedback and external research.
Work with commercial teams to develop HCP educational collateral on coverage decisions, study results and product intent.
Champion real-world evidence generation and peer reviewed publication strategy to support and enhance clinical data.
In collaboration with Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs, develop clinical strategy early in product development that supports broad market access.
Liaise with Clinical Affairs on the development health economic and other reimbursement trials.
Directs design and execution of HEOR studies to ensure alignment with business need, scientific soundness and executional excellence including publication plan in partnership with Medical Affairs.
Support Areas/Affiliates in addressing market access, price and reimbursement challenges.
Establish guidance to Areas/Affiliates and Global Brand Teams to optimize price, access and reimbursement.
Continually update Market Access teams with emerging data, competitive events and payer requirements
Hire and retain staff of highly motivated Market Access team.
Build and manage departmental budget and related activities.
Direct generation of resources and tools such as global payer value propositions and core value dossiers to secure price and reimbursement at the Affiliate level.
B.A. or B.S. Degree required. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or Health Policy preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement and health policy is needed with background in real world evidence, health economics and outcomes research and peer review publication process.
Medical Device experience is preferred but not a hard requirement.
Broad knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement in the US and OUS markets and understanding of the health care policy is desired. Experience working with KOLs, as well as government and private payers.
At least 2 years managing sr. level staff with experience in building and retaining a high-performance team.
Critical for success: Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation and listening skills with senior level staff).

Approximately 25% international. Hard requirement to reside in California.
This role reports will work collaboratively with and set direction for 50 plus market access experts within ADC’s commercial teams within country markets.
