Abbott Human Resources Director, Ops & Quality in Alameda, California

  • Develops, leads and manages the delivery of HR services for client areas. Provides strategic business human resources support for Global Product Operations and Quality, encompassing 4 manufacturing sites and 2 distribution sites globally. Also responsible for Division HR Communications and Business Optimization functions including Metrics, Analytics and Business integrations activities related to mergers and acquisitions.

Main responsibilities:

  • In addition to the day-to-day managerial function, the role will incorporate strategic and policy development aspects that will have medium term consequences on the operation of the function and impact elements of organization performance.

  • Direct a range of human resources management functions through section heads.

  • Key member in the formulation of human resources strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Responsible for the implementation of company-wide human resources policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all activities and programs related to human resources are implemented in accordance with the organization's human resource strategy.

These may include: recruitment, training, compensation/remuneration, benefits, performance evaluation, organizational development, relocation, equal employment/affirmative action, health, safety and wellness, human resources administration, human resource information systems, payroll, employee communications, employment/industrial/labor relations.

  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of managers to ensure the organization's human resource strategy is implemented effectively, consistently, and according to established guidelines and budgets.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the top executive level so the organization's human resource strategy is aligned with other business strategies.

  • Represent the organization in interactions with external parties in order to protect the organisation's interests and reputation.

Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years experience in human resources. Bachelor's and Master's degree(s) preferred. Experience supporting Global Operations preferred.
