Senior Software Test Engineering Lead
Looking for a seasoned professional with experience managing software test teams and managing multiple projects.
Primary responsibilities will include Supervision of Software Test Engineers, Reviewing Software Requirements and
other specifications. Generating and reviewing software test plans, test cases, and execution of test cases.
Managing defect workflows and creating test summary reports. Hands on experience with software test automation
frameworks and test automation is strongly preferred. Experience with testing mobile applications and working with
virtual teams a plus.
Up to 6 direct reports.
Minimum Education : Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Science or related engineering or scientific field. MS or PhD degree ideal.
Minimum Experience : 10 yrs relevant experience and a Bachelors degree or 8 yrs with MS degree. Will receive additional 2 years experience credit for PhD.
Minimum 2 years of software engineering management experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Excellent knowledge of general software engineering principles. Minimum of 6 years of solid programming experience using current programming languages (e.g., CSharp, Java, C, C, Assembly etc) Minimum of 6 years of structured software development and/or Object Modeling Design experience. Minimum 6 years experience in applications programming and/or software development of embedded systems for safety critical products. Excellent troubleshooting skills are a must Strong debugging techniques and experience on using debugger and ICE is required
Strong working knowledge of the principles of quality software engineering as described by software lifecycle development processes that are consistent with ISO, IEEE, or other FDA recognized standards. Experience in Source Control Management is required. Experience on multitasking in RTOS and/or Windows OS, real-time software design and development is highly preferable. Experience on Internet technologies (web development, application servers) and database design is a strong plus. Experience on User Interface and Human Factors design development is a strong plus. Experience in design, engineering and testing of software contained in medical devices developed under the FDAs regulations for 510(k) or PMA products is preferred. Experience of using Visual State Machine is preferable. Knowledgeable on device driver and low level device interface design and development is a plus. Knowledgeable on microprocessor architecture is a strong plus. Excellent Knowledge and experience on RF software design, device driver configuration, and test is a plus. Excellent experience in Communications design using RS232, Bluetooth, WiFi, TCP/IP, USB or equivalent is a plus
1.Capable of working at high level of performance on projects and activities that dramatically impacts the business.
2.Functional management of software engineering or very senior technical contributor and may be, responsible for staffing and maintaining the groups high level of technical competence and productivity.
3.Technical leader responsible for maintaining and enhancing the high level of technical competence of the Engineering Staff.
4.Provide technical leadership in application/embedded software development and project scheduling.
5.Reliably deliver high quality software within schedule constraints.
6.Participate as senior engineering representative in product development teams for development strategies of new products and services.
7.Work with external software consultants as required for system development, algorithm design and project management to deliver on established project milestones
8.Interacts with the QA engineers to insure that software products are robust and of very high quality.
9.Implement software design efficiently in current programming languages (CSharp, Java, C, C, Assembly, etc.)
10.Proficient use of appropriate tools and techniques for productivity and code quality: debuggers, profilers, unit testing, source control, etc.
11.Research technical issues and propose technical solutions.
12.Participate in the full life cycle of development, from specification and design through implementation, testing, and support.
13.Lead the evaluation of new software design tools, software architectures, microprocessors and algorithms. Coordinating and working effectively with other departments to provide software support as needed.
