Abbott Key Account Manager in Auckland, New Zealand

The Sales Specialist's main responsibilities include developing account level sales opportunities and executing technicalsales activities in the diagnostic area (Haematology, Clinical Chemistry, Assays and Informatics etc.)

The other main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Uncovering needs and opportunities through a sound working knowledge of Abbott solutions

  • Effectively execute account level strategy

  • Participate/execute solution pricing activities and provide platform specific contributions to tenders working in partnership with other Abbott staff members

  • Establish and build deep understanding of account needs, stakeholders and competitive situation

  • Build and lead internal cross functional selling team to execute account strategies

  • Analyse impact of market trends and factors on customers

  • Develop account level strategic plans for achieving goals including sales and margin

  • Identify new business opportunities by initiating, developing or delivering unique solutions that result in improved outcomes for customer and company

  • Employ agreed 'best practice' call and territory management activities. Maintain Salesforce.com minimum utilisation commitments with appropriate pre and post call follow-up, maintaining account information accuracy and accurate pipeline management of opportunities

We are looking for candidate with the following skills/experience:

  • Extensive experience managing key accounts

  • High level of knowledge of our IACC and sound working knowledge of Assays, Haematology, Informatics and Automation solutions

  • Experience working with senior level stakeholders

  • Ability to influence team member activities (without direct reporting relationship)

  • Proven success at winning contracts at large, complex accounts

  • Long-term, strategic focus on account

  • Understanding of laboratory work practises and processes

  • Strong solution selling and relationship building skills

  • ADD assay technical knowledge

  • Excellent product and industry knowledge

  • Strong understanding of key stakeholders and customer dynamics

  • Understanding of laboratory process and workflow
