This position delivers product and skill training for customers and/or employees. Provides feedback regarding effectiveness of programs and makes recommendations to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
Delivers training strategy and plan to support customer and/or employee training including front-of classroom and field observation activities.
Acts as central point of contact for new employees and liaison to training program managers.
Supports training events and courses for new employees and existing employees.
Including class,people,strategy and business,incorporates feedback to continually improve program.
Primary Job Function:
This field-based position is responsible for supporting Abbott’s investigational TriClip Tricuspid Valve Repair System (TVRS) thru field and customer training to optimize procedural outcomes and efficiencies. This position is US geographically field-based and spends significant time in the field with customers. Strong leadership and teamwork skills are required. The position requires experience and knowledge to integrate with clinical science, clinical operations, broader training group, global marketing, R&D, and other cross functional teams. This position may also require project-based international travel for development of new device and procedure global training curriculum and programs.

As a member of the Structural Heart Training team, the job requires the following responsibilities:
In building a new therapy, the ability to work with other US-based training team members, cross functional team members, and global counterparts is imperative to ensure communication, collaboration, alignment and implementation of training.
Member of R&D product design input and testing as needed
Leadership and collaboration with global KOL physicians and Abbott cross-functional teams (R&D, Clinical, Marketing, etc) for alignment on critical training initiatives
Interpersonal, Presentation, and Implementation Skills
Work one-on-one with physician heart team members to support outcomes and efficiencies along with best practices
Present and train at customer educational programs
Create training content
Responsibility for TRILUMINATE IDE sites for patient screening, trial awareness, eligibility committee call slide creation on clipability perspectives, case proctoring, etc. to ensure quality and timely enrollment with high customer satisfaction.
Own local training course design, presenter, content, and logistics as needed to support clinical study devices and procedures.
Monitor product performance outcomes for additional training or product design input for trial sites.
Development of global training curriculum for commercial and investigational devices. Working with KOL thought leaders, R&D, Training, Clinical Engineering to create new training content.
This position is accountable for building the TriClip Tricuspid Valve Repair System (TVRS) new therapy. Team members will collaborate with global KOLs, EMEA field proctors & training, clinical science and others to refine key learnings on patient selection for clipability and procedural approaches (steering and echo) to ensure TR reduction and durability of results for the TRILUMINATE IDE and to support the CE launch. Key learnings will be incorporated into product design, IFU updates, and training curriculum (both mandatory and supplemental). Field-based customer interactions for training and challenge case diagnosis/solutions will also facilitate optimal clinical outcomes & efficiencies.
Minimum Experience / Training Required
Bachelors Degree preferred or relevant experience demonstrating the equivalent skills. Minimum 2 years of related experience. At least 2 years experience in a field based sales/service/support role necessary. Must have an understanding of basic learning principles and adult learning theory. Presentation skills, and consultative skills necessary. Must have diagnostic product knowledge. Person has a demonstrated, proven track record of driving for results.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with extensive clinical experience and 1 year of Abbott case proctoring experience in the Structural Heart for MitraClip. Direct experience working with physician customers. A clinical background and/or strong clinical knowledge and aptitude. Strong communication skills, specifically an ability to deliver effective training to large and small audiences. Ability to work with several levels within the organization and in cross functional teams. Solid understanding and application of business concepts, procedures, and practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
