Job Title: Customs Administrator
This is a great opportunity to join a market leader within the Nutrition Manufacturing Industry and work in a dynamic global environment. You will ideally have 2+ years of relevant experience in a customs administrator role.
Abbott Cootehill manufacture product which is exported and while importing or exporting products we most comply with all applicable company policies, customs requirements, antiboycott rules, embargo and trade control laws, rules and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have good experience dealing and working within a customs environment.
Support the alignment of Product Classification and Valuation of our product
Be accustomed and engage fully with the use of special trade programmes – IP, Bonded Warehouse. The successful candidate will take leadership and management in the area of IP and Bonded Warehouse and co-ordinate AEO audits.
Work closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders and complete all associated documentation for this purpose.
The successful candidate will work as an advisory to the business and support all requirements of the Country of Origin Marking and also audit accordingly.
S/he will ensure all Post-Entry Amendments are completed accurately and maintained accordingly.
Supplier Declarations will form a core element of the role and successful candidate will ensure all associated paperwork and declarations are aligned with necessary guidelines.
S/he will manage budgets and report on the Global Duty Spend periodically.
Ensure that submissions to revenue are provided accurately and on time.
As one of the key stakeholders of this area s/he will work closely with purchasing/materials to identify potential duty charges and ensure appropriate measures are in place to ensure compliance
Other ad hoc finance duties and projects as required
Third level relevant qualification – eg Diploma in Business & Finance or equivalent. Accountancy qualification an advantage
Associated customs training in AEO an advantage
Knowledge and skills
Minimum 2 year’s experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of classification of goods
Relevant experience in a similar industry desirable
Ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative
Proven ability to prioritize objectives and duties
Excellent PC literacy and keyboard skills required, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and administrative skills
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
