Summary:

The Division level owner for establishing and deploying Business Excellence (BEx) strategies and programs. Defines and implements strategies to improve performance and reduce cost across AMD (Abbott Molecular Division) Operations, QA and throughout the Division. Leads and manages high impact change programs that significantly improve productivity and the cost structure of AMD's Operations.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for: - identifying and executing large scale projects to improve operating performance and reduce cost across AMD Operations and QA. Providing support and direction on BEx programs and strategies at all AMD Sites to ensure they achieve their Annual Plan and LRP objectives. - managing the Global Operations Project Portfolio.

Ensures that high impact programs are defined, resourced and implemented in order to achieve financial objectives as defined by both the Annual and Long-Range Plans. - performing benchmarking and cost structure analysis to define significant opportunities for improvement.

Establishes sustaining processes to evaluate cost / capacity and modeling across the AMD's Operations Network. - establishing and implementing candidate identification, training and certification for Division Wide Lean / Six Sigma program.

Senior Leader on the Global Operations BEx Council, responsible for establishing programs and practices that drive consistent approach to achieving best in class BEx performance across Abbott.

Accountability/Scope

Position reports to the Divisional Vice President Operations and has control over the strategies and programs that will enable the organization to meet short and long-range objectives for profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction within all of AMD's functional areas including Manufacturing Operations, QA, R&D and Commercial Operations.

Establishes and manages long range Manufacturing Operations and QA strategies and programs.

BEx projects in scope are key to achieving business objectives across all Functional areas, therefore will present to Division President and Business Leaders (DVPs, VPs) of these areas.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree Required - Engineering, Science, Business or Finance. Master’s Degree Required - Business, Program/Project Management or Supply Chain. Six Sigma Blackbelt certification preferred. Minimum 15 years’ experience managing Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and / or Finance. Minimum 3 years’ experience managing operations and/or large ($10MM+) programs across multiple International locations.
