We currently have a role for Assistant Controller (Maternity Leave Cover) at our Liffey Valley site.

Main Responsibilities:

•As part of the finance team manage the areas of specific responsibility to ensure submission of a full set of monthly financial reports to tight deadlines including year-end reporting requirements.

•Ensure timely completion and submission of the monthly sales reporting to corporate timelines.

• Preparation and review of monthly divisional performance with the Finance Director within month end reporting timeline. Ensure timely preparation and submission of budgets and quarterly rolling forecasts to Corporate HQ.

•Complete quarterly royalty calculations in a timely manner in line with royalty agreements.

•Ensure that accounting transactions in relation to a specific financial flow for bulk product are captured in a timely basis each month.

•In conjunction with the Shared Services Organisation ensure all intercompany accounts are maintained in order with no out of balances.

•Working with the Shared Services Organisation to ensure adherence to all internal reporting requirements for the affiliate.

•Working with the Shared Services Organisation to develop processes with them through implementation of shared continuous improvement projects.

•Work with Shared Services Organisation to ensure service delivery to the business is meeting the required standard.

•Working with the Shared Services Organisation to ensure that the entity meets all statutory and Revenue reporting requirements relating to the general business e.g. CSO reporting.

•Ensure the external audit and filing of annual accounts are completed in a timely manner.

•Be the main point of contact for working with the taxation advisors to ensure that Abbott remains compliant in relation to its Corporate Tax affairs.

•Participating as an integral part of the finance management team, you will provide financial support for the business.

•Lead and motivate a team, both internal employees and external suppliers, ensuring effective delivery of required outputs.

•Manage the company fleet in line with Abbott policies and the local legal framework.

•Ensure that Purchase Requisitions and Invoices for approval are completed in a timely basis.

•Support the business with the annual standard load to the system and with any new product standards that arise during the year.

•Ensure the affiliates Fixed Assets are reflected accurately and organise with the Divisions and the Hub verification on a periodic basis of Fixed Assets to the register.

•Fulfil the role of Affiliate Security Controller for SAP and SRM in relation to new roles, new employees and approval levels. Additionally, be the affiliate contact point for SAP support team.

•Develop an understanding of the various share schemes available to employees to ensure compliance with various scheme rules in place.

•Provide guidance to the Business and backup support to the Finance Director, in relation to Facilities, OEC and Compliance related activities in the Affiliate.

•Provide support to the Finance Director in all aspects of running the business from a Finance viewpoint.

•Work on various projects within the business as necessary.


  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience.

  • Previous SAP experience desirable.

Previous experience of dealing with a shared service environment desirable.
