In Ireland, Abbott employs almost 3,200 people across 11 sites. Abbott has six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC)

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the migration of RTR processes and services to the regional shared service organization including Recruitment and selection of the GA support team for the region,

  • Develop the agreed performance measures, KPIs, and goal setting processes to support fixed assets accounting,

  • Assist in the identification of additional activities to be transitioned to the outsource partner(s), while continuing to transition more complex activities into the regional captive shared services organization,

  • Leads an accounting team, performing general accounting processes from the point of transaction through to financial close and periodic external reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annually) in support of corporate, country/legal entity and regional controllers,

  • Responsible for Month end close process, close governance and associated cooperate reporting,

  • Support and guide the internal and external teams to identify implement and maintain minimum effective controls for the finance process activities performed to ensure ongoing data integrity for Abbott,

  • Lead the internal team to perform ad hoc and special projects assignments, as required,

  • Sustain Service Agreement delivery standards with the internal customers and 3rd party outsource service providers.

Minimum Education:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred,

  • Statistics or economics or local country equivalent, considered.

Preferred Education:

  • MBA

Minimum Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of general accounting experience in a complex global environment,

  • 2-3 years in a shared services role with full P&L\Balance Sheet accountability for a Division/ Business unit or country,

  • 3-5 years team lead experience, mentoring and developing teams,

  • SAP or other enterprise systems experience, preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting multi-country/ jurisdictional delivery in a complex regulatory and accounting environment,

  • Experience managing across internal and 3rd party outsource teams,

  • Demonstrated capability to understand accounting outcomes and explain accounting treatment.

Minimum Language Skills : English required, other European language desirable.

Required Certifications : Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CPA or similar with Public accounting or equivalent experience.
