The Abbott Automation Solutions GmbH in Hamburg is the international specialist for laboratory automation. The modular automation solution includes a single sample transport, which allows the dynamic connection of analytical instruments as well as platforms for sample preparation and archiving in laboratories of almost all sizes. This innovative solution is characterized by high efficiency in sample throughput, by flexibility in the design of the laboratories and thus by cost advantages for our international customers.

Abbott Automation Solutions is looking for a

Clinical Informatics System Analyst (m/f/d)

based in Hamburg.

Responsibilities:

  • Translation of requirements into new solutions – Development of use cases, requirements and specifications for new and existing system design

  • Building and maintaining Third Party Manufacturer (TPM) product and partner relationship – Evaluation and definition of product changes with TPM to resolve customer issues and provide input on new functionality of moderate complexity projects

  • Leads technical discussions with TPM

  • Participating in investigations to determine root cause for moderately complex issues that may cross multiple products

  • Maintain high customer service by assisting support with customer issue resolution and coordinate inclusion of customer issue resolution with product/project patches and releases

  • Solution configuration and documentation - software installation and configuration, test laboratory workflows, creation and maintenance of business rules, verification of system and instrument interfaces

  • Provide and gather inputs from internal and external sources and from members of the project’s cross functional team to achieve customer needs

  • Review technical risks and take appropriate action

  • Review and provide input into risk management documentation including FMEA and risk analyses

Profile:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar discipline including Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Healthcare Informatics

  • Several years of related working experience, preferably in healthcare sector

  • Knowledge of HIS/LIS/LIMS and laboratory operations is strongly preferred

  • Experience in Medical technology or clinical laboratory science; ASCP; CLS (NCA) is a plus. Experience with communication protocols (ASTM, HL7, XML)

  • Very good oral and written communication skills in German and English

  • Strong analytical and communication skills as well as sound judgment and the ability to work effectively with internal team members, software developers, and customer
