Product Support Manager (f/m)

based in Hannover

Core job responsibilities:

  • Managing all activities in the Product Support Work Stream to give full support to the product, prioritize work, focus on value added activities and ensure that all members of the Work Stream are sufficiently managing their tasks and responsibilities.

  • Serve as a representative of EPO (Operations) in Brand / Therapeutic Area (TA) Strategy Teams and align the strategy of the Brand Team with the Product Support Work Stream(s) and Operations.

  • Identify, drive and execute Target Cost Initiatives to improve the gross margin of a product.

  • Keep close ties with Manufacturing Operations and assure that processes are running smoothly, i.e. give guidance to continuous improvement and troubleshooting actions.

  • Report to governance bodies, e.g. EPO MS&T, CMC Review Board, Brand Teams and escalate issues timely.

  • Responsible for planning of budgets, i.e. internal resources and external costs, and control of costs.

  • Responsible for the development of comprehensive project plans to improve the quality and profitability of products.

  • Prepare yearly a Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls product strategy plan based on the Product Quality Review and compliance and strategic goals.

  • Coach and develop WS members and colleague PrSMs. Serve as a leader in Operations.

  • Lead development of Product Reliability Maps and plans to improve product and process robustness.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced academic degree in a scientific or technical field (pharmacy, chemistry, engineering).

  • 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a manufacturing, development or technology transfer projects (chemical, pharmaceutical) background.

  • Possesses an in-depth understanding of the business and its success factors.

  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of CMC drug development with a good understanding of the manufacturing environment and constraints (e.g. GMP).

  • Strong management skills to manage complex projects with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Development, Regulatory, Quality), good capabilities to influence others and demonstrated ability to coach and develop WS members and PrSMs.

  • Able to challenge current practices to constantly improve competitiveness, develop ideas and realize innovation.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to interface with multiple areas within Abbott and Third Party Manufacturers.
