Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals (Multinational company) has a vacancy for a Regional Sales Manager- Inland / Gauteng that will be responsible for leading a Sales Force across various Therapeutic Areas based in Pretoria region.
Role Key Objectives
To develop, maintain and grow the business, and market share of the Division within the private/ State & Hospital environments; through effective management of the operational sales function, proactive development of new business opportunities, and development of the EPD Sales Team through objective setting, coaching, performance monitoring and creating new business ideas and sales techniques to drive the business, subsequently growing the EPD business in accordance to PLAN targets.
Education, Qualifications & Experience
Suitable tertiary education is essential e.g. BSc/ B Pharmacy; B Comm.
Minimum 4- 5 years sales management experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry is mandatory
Experience with multiple Therapeutic Areas is an advantage
Proven / demonstrable experience in implementation of sales strategies / commercial execution
Competent understanding of all sales force effectiveness activities & handling of relevant systems
Must be computer literate in MS excel, power point and word & sales data handling.

Understanding of the budgeting and forecasting processes, a clear grasp of marketing strategies and processes, negotiation skills, ability to establish / lead a high performing sales team and communication skills. Sales & market analysis. Ability to translate marketing strategies into actionable points for sales team & implementation. Proven leadership skills.
Achievement of sales targets & SFE KPIs as per PLN
Propose and negotiate resource allocation (human and financial) to ensure manpower requirements are identified for maximum productivity.
Control / review / monitor expenditure against allocated budgets.
Forecast, plan implement and monitor all sales activities. Compiles & submits reports as required
Create new business ideas and sales techniques for the sales teams to help drive the business forward
Ensure that all marketing strategies are communicated, understood, effectively implemented and monitored, providing feedback regarding effectiveness of these strategies.
Develop Territory sales plans for all strategic brands
Conduct environmental scanning, organisational effectiveness, and competitor and market analysis. Ensure effective communication thereof with marketing team & management.
Ensure synergies across the business units as well as with other departments within the organisation are identified and encouraged
Elaborate and implement motivation elements (bonuses, incentives, training plans, skills development and talent identification and retention) necessary to maintaining synergies and business growth
Responsible for active performance monitoring & performance management of team as guided by company policy.
