JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Data Analyst (Business Analyst, Informatics) is an expert in data analysis of business intelligence with the ability to execute projects of continuous improvement within laboratories. As a member of the Operation Excellence (OPEX) team this position is responsible for supporting the acquisition and customer experience team to expand ADD (Abbott Diagnostics Division) informatics business.

Provides specialized technical support on AlinIQ BIS for customers and internal organization.

Helps to establish and build high-level relationships and leverage them in developing new informatics business.

Analyzes customer data on a regular basis and develop reports for customers with insights and recommendations regarding their lab operation.

Interfaces with sales organization and customers to provide reports and coaching on how to deliver insight reports. Responds to questions from sales organization and customers regarding reports.

Creates a reference library of reports and insights for internal use and with other customers. Regularly shares developed insights among entire OPEX team and other functional teams

Builds and utilizes a formal framework for the OPEX requests and subsequent creation of customer reports by the sales organization.

Works closely with R&D and Marketing to provide Voice-of-Customer feedback and help develop new feature pipeline and success stories.

Provides training to sales organization on laboratory bench marking; including analysis reporting and delivery.

Works with regional implementation teams to ensure all IT related projects are delivered and executed to meet customer expectations.

Demonstrates appropriate levels of regional and national markets, competitor and product knowledge.

Ideal/Preferred Work Experience:

Data Analyst experience out of a medical lab with the the following:

  • Power BI and/or Tableau

  • LIS (Laboratory Information Systems) experience with any of these: EPIC, Cerner, Meditech or similar)

  • SQL

Qualifications (Required, except where otherwise indicated):

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

Minimum of 3 years of diagnostics and laboratory experience or track record in the healthcare informatics industry with strong experience as an analyst with Business Intelligence.

Experience designing, selling and/or implementing multi-site automation and/or informatics projects.

Must demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems and recommend actions to customers/users.

Solid understanding of medical laboratories, how they work, and what factors affect their performance. Understanding the business dynamics of the laboratory as to what drives the demand for testing / staffing / instrumentation requirements etc.

Excellent analytical skills in Excel; able to problem solve and discover patterns in data.

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with IT technical individuals and the non-technical organizational tiers.

Ability to apply strategic thinking and logic to develop customized informatics solutions based on the unique needs and circumstances of each customer.

Experience with Abbott Diagnostic instruments preferred.
