Abbott Diagnostics has an opening for an IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to be located in the Conway Park facility (Chicagoland). This position is responsible for Business Relationship Management activities in ADD’s Global Commercial IT Organization. This role ensures the system portfolio enhances the organizational strategy through successful, consistent and predictable delivery of programs, projects and applications. The BRM works in collaboration with the business in the development of information management strategies that align and integrate with the overall business strategy. The BRM leads a team in partnering with business clients to understand business processes and translate needs into IT opportunities. This role relies on proven leadership in managing teams and establishing strong collaboration with Sr. Business Leaders.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Business Relationship Manager for ADD's US & LAC (Latin America & Canada) Commercial business functions as well as IT BRM for other Global Commercial business functions, as required.
Excellent understanding of the business processes and strategy.
Partners with business to develop an IT strategic roadmap.
Interacts with business leadership to ensure needs are understood and IT updates are communicated on a consistent basis.
Ability to turn business needs into user and functional requirements.
Collaborate with Corporate IT and external vendors in the delivery of IT solutions per budget, timeline and service levels.
Reviews IT Statements of Work to ensure they clearly articulate the business need and elevates concerns if estimates don’t align with the work effort required or if delivery does not meet expectation.
Manages IT budgets, project capital/RCE expenditures and ROI. Looks for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.
Responsible for all aspects of people leadership, team growth and development.
Establishes staffing/resource capacity plans. Responsible for overall organizational effectiveness.
Manage issues, risks and decision making within effective time-frame and outcome.
Establishes and maintains productive relationships across all levels within the Abbott IT organization and external suppliers.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or another discipline relevant to the Healthcare industry.
7-9 years of IT experience in midsized multinational health care organization.
Experience leading teams - both direct and indirect teams.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Proven leadership skills, self-directed with strong work ethic.
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
Successfully managed project portfolio with projects ranging from $.5M-$8MM.
Proven experience and understanding of the complete software life cycle.
Ability to collaborate with business leads, understand business strategy/processes, look for innovative solutions to drive business enhancements both for internal business users and external customers.
Work effectively with all levels of management up to and including Division Directors and VPs.
Strong influence and negotiating skills.
Technology Knowledge of the following disciplines a plus:(Digital/Mobile, BI/Analytics, ERP, salesforce.com, Call Center)
Previous experience conducting IT Phase 0 analysis to evaluate application solution alternatives, a plus.
