Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure project scope is clearly defined; develop and manage project plan to meet deliverables

  • Creates, manages, and executes project plans, milestones & schedule

  • Uses a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

  • Tracks project performance to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals

  • Act as point of contact for project reporting & updates

  • Provide support as required to Program or Portfolio Management

  • Document project plan in Project Management (PM) software and maintain project documentation

  • Proactively identify manage and mitigate project opportunities/ issues/ risks

  • Builds key relationships with customers relating to their project(s)

  • Collaborate with representatives from appropriate functional areas across the Division to meet project objectives

  • Assesses projects for opportunities to improve performance (conducts lessons learned)

  • Understands resource allocation and deployment to execute deliverables

  • Creates a team-based environment in which all members are respected

  • Participate in project assessments and communicate lessons learned

  • Responsible for execution of scope change management and project close-out processes Skills:

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong project leadership skills in managing medium to large-scale projects from beginning to end, with accountability for project execution.

  • The candidate must have strong analytical skills and prior experience in the full software lifecycle methodology.

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with all levels within the IT organization, the business function and any external partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize activities based on business impact.

  • Ability and desire to understand business process and apply to technology.

  • Excellent organization & written/verbal communication skills

  • Must be a proven self-starter who is able to function with minimal management direction.

  • Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:

  • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira/Greenhopper, Rally, VersionOne or equivalent

  • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools

Education/Experience Necessary:

  • Demonstrated potential to lead and influence cross-functional peers

  • The position requires a minimum of 6 years of progressive IT project management experience demonstrating excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in a regulated industry required (medical device development experience preferred

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams. PMP preferred

  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
