Primary Job Function:

The Commercial Excellence Senior Manager is responsible for driving Commercial Alignment of the Global; Area and Region / Country Marketing Processes with the IBP Product Portfolio Management and IBP Supply Management (Operations and Quality) Processes. The role will effectively fuel Acquisition (including Renewals) and Value Expansion Opportunities by ensuring Global Alignment of the Marketing Planning and Execution activities to Product Portfolio franchise strategic road maps; Customer Loyalty Initiatives (including product improvements) and On-Market / Field Issue Management. This will be achieved by follow-up and execution of key processes; building aligned contingency plans for anticipated issues and driving execution of plans in a timely manner.

Job Locations: Lake Forest, IL (IDEAL) - or - for qualified out -of-state candidates, this position can be based virtual/remote.

Travel Requirement: 30% (USA)

Core Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

  • Ownership for the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Global Marketing process. Drive monthly process to enhance effective execution of Marketing Plan; while ensuring alignment to Product Portfolio Activities and the Commercial Strategy.

  • Primary Commercial lead in the IBP Product Portfolio Management process; to ensure consistency relative to the comprehension of the Commercial and Customer Needs relative to all Product Projects (On-Market and New Product).

  • Primary Commercial lead in IBP Supply Management process including driving Commercial needs in design and roll out of CASE / New Product / Business Supply Continuity projects and initiatives.

  • Ensure timely and effective communication and close-out of key decisions made; elevations and action items arising from the IBP Review Process(s).

  • Working with Area Commercial Excellence Directors and Area Marketing Directors; ensure month to month changes in business and market dynamics (including Product Offerings) are comprehended as potential business opportunities and vulnerabilities for review and action planning.

  • Key stakeholder in customer loyalty detractor programs to ensure Service; Marketing and Commercial needs are included in product development projects scope and customer loyalty risks are mitigated.

  • IBP Commercial leader for the Global Deployment of “FOCUS-IT” Value Expansion Initiative.

  • Ownership for the Monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) New Product Planning & Forecasting Process. Drive process monthly to ensure establishment of “One set of numbers”. Ensure clear transparency to New Product and Retirement Demand Management Statement which will enable sustainable and predictable delivery on IBP / LBE Commitment at Country; Region; Area and Division Level.

Oversee management of:

o Business Cases alignment between Marketing and Finance teams for all active product projects

throughout the Product Lifecycle Stage and Gate Process.

o aforce (ADD CRM Process & Tool) alignment for the Global and Area Marketing Teams; including data

stewardship (relevant to Product Transition (New Product & Retirement) and relevant ticket resolution

with Global Team. Coordination of all tool activities within the Marketing Area – including Data

Extraction and Business Performance Metric reporting.

o Coordination of the Automation and Informatics Commercial Pre-Approval and Planning Process

across the Division.

o Commercial messaging for key customer loyalty detractors

  • Work with Area and Global Marketing Teams to establish reportable Metrics to measure both (a) the efficient deployment of the Approved Marketing Plans and

(b) the associated pre-determined Business Outcomes.

  • Ensure standardization; drive efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and foster application of best practice sharing.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in science; engineering; business management and business administration. MBA


Minimum Experience / Training Required:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ track record in the life science industry with an emphasis on commercial management or supply chain management in diagnostic and/or medical device business.
