Center of Excellence Description:

The ADD DHQ Center of Excellence is a best in class FP&A organization that drives standardization and efficiencies across ADD, provides insightful and value added analytics, and serves as a talent pipeline into the division. The Center of Excellence is responsible for the preparation and analytical review of cost center budgets and other standard financial reports, spanning across Commercial, DHQ, IT, Marketing, and R&D organizations for LBE's and confirmations. Analytical review includes understanding of the key causals that drive change versus multiple benchmarks. On-going process initiatives are also required to improve and strengthen financial processes, procedures, and systems supporting these areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Support the Abbott Diagnostics Finance areas with a wide variety of financial analysis and projects. Depending on the area supported, some activities may include:

  • Monthly review and analysis of actual results compared to benchmarks and metrics

  • Prepare monthly reports for senior management

  • Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements

  • Preparation of LBE (latest best estimate) forecasts

  • Exposure to international P&Ls/exchange rates

  • Business Case Analysis for project savings

  • Interaction with different levels of management, both finance and operational

  • Financial modeling with extensive use of Excel

  • Maintenance and management of financial applications and tools

  • Creation of SOPs (standard operating procedures) for repeatable tasks

  • Special Ad Hoc projects

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years finance/accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and with senior management

  • Ability to manage

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
