Abbott Finance Manager in Maidenhead, United Kingdom

Abbott Vascular are recruiting for a driven, experienced Finance Manager (based in Maidenhead) to provide solid financial support and guidance to the business, whilst ensuring all business processes are compliant, structured and efficient. Responsible for two direct reports, the Finance Manager is a key business partner to the Vascular commercial organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide financial support, ensuring all procedures are sound, aligned with business objectives and are observed by the organisation.

  • To be a permanent advisor to sales, marketing and general management in relation to organization and procedural matters to help achieve company goals.

  • To create, monitor and support a high performing team; ensuring that the department carries out activities effectively and as efficiently as possible, including implementing and driving changes to systems, processes and tasks carried out by the team.

  • To identify and initiate the reporting needs of management, and develop the appropriate reporting tools and manage sales analysis requirements.

  • To monitor the standard margin and contribution margin progress on a regular basis and identify opportunities to increase profit margin where possible.

  • To understand the strategic goals and align thinking with the company’s business strategies.

  • To monitor market activity at a sales and unit revenue, market share and hospital account level to support the commercial goals, on a monthly basis.

  • To prepare and calculate accurate commissions for the commercial team in accordance with the Regional incentives.


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Finance/Accounting related discipline or equivalent.

  • Professional Finance Qualification e.g. ACCA, CIMA.

  • Proven people management experience in a financial environment.

  • Has an in-depth knowledge of accounting and cost as well as inventory management understanding.

  • Previous experience in a commercial environment is an advantage but not essential.

  • Excellent system skills and appreciation – Excel, SAP data warehouse preferred but not essential.

  • High calibre individual - ambitious, driven to achieve excellent standards and to continually seek to improve.

  • Confident communicator and influencer – able to develop good relationships easily with the credibility to challenge.
