Position Overview :

The Product Manager, Point of Care has the primary responsibility for all marketing and product management aspects of the iStat and Alinity iStat product areas designated by the Country Manager. This position is home based.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop product marketing and sales strategies for the Point of Care business for Canada in line with a three-year strategic plan for the appropriate market segments.

  • Supports the implementations and execution of product specific strategy, new product launches and marketing/sales plans to achieve sales growth and margin objectives.

  • Communicate strategies to the sales team.

  • Achieve financial sales targets including the contribution margin.

  • Review Global Marketing programs, literature and incentives and determine viability for Canadian market to develop and build Canadian marketing programs.

  • Assists with competitor, product and market-specific Canadian competitive intelligence gathering and evaluation activity.

  • Provide market segment, product and competitive product information to the commercial teams in Canada to increase sales. Assist with Commercial Excellence teams to develop sales activities to drive field activities.

  • Field travel 40% of available time with the sales team and to drive new field initiatives.

  • Monitor the market for changes and trends and communicate to Global Marketing.

  • Open and make available all new list/size numbers through the PAR process and work with RA to ensure timely launch of new products.

  • Build rapport with Global marketing to expedite any product issue solutions.

  • Approve and make recommendations on proposals, tenders and bids in their product areas.

  • Provide monthly highlights and financial updates to the Country Manager for consolidation and assistance with unit forecasting.

  • Identify training requirements and provide information to sales, implementation and admin support teams in Canada.

  • Assist sales by the development and support of scientific studies and customer presentations. Assist in managing and developing Canadian KOLs/advisory boards, etc.

  • Assist in product forecasting, Plan and Update processes annually.

  • Support sales and increase customer contact by participating and planning national and regional conferences and/or user group meetings and tradeshows.

  • Development and execution of tactical lead generation programs in Canada, including of strategic promotional activities.

Required Education and Experience:

  • BA, BSc or equivalent in the areas of marketing, science, nursing or Business Administration.

  • Minimum 3-5 years marketing experience related to area of assigned responsibility.

  • Exposure of medical device marketing, sales, strategic planning, retail sales force and distributor channel, coupled with a proven, professional approach.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Sales experience and knowledge of sales strategies.

  • Clinical nursing or clinical laboratory background helpful.

  • Knowledge of medical device/clinical marketing.

  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and presentational skills.

  • Ability to implement competitive intelligence methodologies to anticipate and understand market needs and act within the organization to respond.

  • Ability to assist with leadership initiatives and focus to global support groups.

  • Ability to influence all levels within the organizations.

  • Capability to interact effectively with all levels within the organizations we approach.

  • Ability to teach, lead and mentor associates and reports what they must know in order to fully accomplish objectives and desired results.

  • Strong overall business acumen.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional team to achieve product line objectives.
