The position of Medical Insurance Collector - Level I is within our VAD Revenue Cycle located in our Orlando, Florida office.

In this role, you will handle and resolve all Insurance follow up and denial issues to ensure that company receives correct reimbursements from the insurance companies and will serve as the liaison between insurance companies, patients and the departments to ensure the claims are processed and followed up. meeting company goals of Account Receivable Days, Aging Account percentages and Cash goals. This role will also research and answer all questions and complaints regarding patient responsibility balances and billing inquiries sent to them through the customer call center with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstratesproficiency and accuracy in operating systems directly related to specific jobfunction.

  • Initiatescontact with insurance carriers regarding status on claims.

  • Maintainsaccurate and complete collection notes concerning collection activities on allaccounts according to company procedures and requirements.

  • Can workindependently.

  • Takesincoming calls from insurance carriers and patients.

  • Contributesto team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Ensuresthat all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.

  • Maintaincompliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Regularattendance and punctuality.

  • Performsany other function as required by management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • High schooldiploma or GED required

  • Associatedegree preferred

  • 1-3 yearsof experience preferred

  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectivelycommunicate with internal and external customers.

  • Excellentcomputer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Must beable to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positiveattitude and providing exemplary customer service

  • Abilityto work independently and to carry out assignments to completion withinparameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard acceptedpractices
