Position Overview:

We are excited to announce a New Grad Rotational Program. The program objective is to provide new graduates with a broad business insight for the successful candidates to rotate through four 6-month rotations in Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance and Research & Development. This program offers you the opportunity to have exposure through cross-functional team work and to gain experience and knowledge that will help you grow your career with Abbott. Through customized, onboarding and training, regularly scheduled check-in meetings, feedback from your new “rotation assignment” leader, and ongoing mentorship you will be supported as you integrate and progress through your rotation assignments.

This year Abbott is excited to announce the Abbott Scholarship Program. This program aims to encourage women to study professions related to the STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The program is focused on the areas of: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Physics, Math and Engineering, Math and Statistics, Mechanical and Materials Engineering. More details will be shared should you be selected for an in person interview.


• Responsible for planning and conducting small-sized assigned projects requiring

conventional types of plans, investigations and/or equipment.

• Participate and/or assist other engineers/scientists in project tasks by applying standard

engineering theories, concepts and techniques.

• Apply standard engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to interpret problems,

create/modify designs, draw conclusions and recommend options for solutions.

• Responsible for completing documentation in a timely manner and in accordance

with business standards.

• Participate on cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.

• Understand and comply with applicable Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules and


• Responsible for implementing and maintaining effectiveness of Quality System.

• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Less than one year experience in an engineering role.

  • Undergraduate University Degree in Engineering or Science with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Co-op and/or internship experience in a related field an asset

  • Successful record of challenging Engineering/Science and related coursework

  • Strong business/technical judgment and problem-solving skills

  • Leadership skills demonstrated through extracurricular activities

  • Self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be prepared to add value in all rotational assignments, and subsequent positions at the program’s completion

  • Must present a professional, positive image that reflects well on the company

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and document conclusions

  • Analytical skills, creativity and innovative approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to determine required analysis to make practical, objective decisions about the best solutions to problems.

  • Coordinating and planning skills, leadership and team skills, ability to convert strategy into results.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; able to deal effectively with people on all organizational levels and work in a team environment across departments.
