Abbott Trade Brand Manager in Rome, Italy


  • Contribute to develop a Retail Channel strategy to significantly establish a solid position in the Pharmacy Channel along the full value chain (managing pharmacies, co-operatives and wholesalers) in terms of relevance, visibility, market share and sales

  • Deploy a Retail Channel roadmap in close collaboration with mission critical stakeholders in line with the Retail Channel strategy and coherently with the directions of the Italian commercial strategy

  • Drive Digital and Multichannel approach

  • Collaborate with Finance to define the appropriate pricing by channel and guarantee the delivery of the Retail Channel P&L targets

  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure the right focus on the top brands

  • Collect all the critical information from the Sales Team to generate the product forecast by key retail customer and channel supporting the monthly ADS publication

  • Collaborate with Demand & Supply and Finance to match Forecast Accuracy, DSO and DOH targets

  • Establish a rigorous model to evaluate the ROI of every major initiative in the Retail Channel

  • Collaborate with the Area Commercial Team to leverage the best practices emerging from different countries and properly influence the Team to gain support on our initiatives

  • Drive the development of innovative, customer‐insight based, end‐to‐end solutions to boost our sales

  • Oversee and integrate Business Intelligence, Customer Insight, and New Business Development into the commercial teams

  • Identification of potential new local commercial opportunities

  • In alignment with the Marketing Department, responsible for the ideation, planning & budgeting, production and implementation of all in store activities, including point of sales materials and promotions

  • Manage the point of sales material (including budget, logistics, distribution, assortment, etc.) by finding the most efficient solutions

  • Collaborate with product managers and marketing team to build sales promotions and

product communication/claims in store leveraging the scientific profile of our offer

  • Collaborates with sales teams to turn the “selling stories” into sales tools to effectively

present the brands, the products and the marketing initiatives to their customers

  • Collaborates with marketing intelligence resource to read IMS data/Internal data and report results of activities and to provide recommendations and forecasts

  • Supports local teams in the execution of the activities and in achieving their sales and budget objectives, while ensuring the desired product benefits and brand values/equity are properly communicated

  • Supports local teams in the execution of their training programs

  • Ensures that the local feedback is taken into account by regularly visiting sales teams, customers and stores

  • Ensures efficient spending of central budget and supervises the trade marketing spending at the PoS

  • Keep complexity low

  • Drive accountability, effective decision‐making and empowerment to the lowest level possible

  • Act in full coherence with the local law, Abbott policies and proactively respecting legal and OEC procedures
