Abbott Regional Medical Director - Abbott Diabetes Care - Nordics (M/W) in Solna, Sweden

The future incumbent of this newly created position in our Diabetes Care organization will establish and leverage critical relationships to local key opinion leaders and engage in alliance projects related to research, medical education and medical communication.

He/she will serve as subject matter expert in medical practice and patient management for the region as well as provide medical support for the commercial and market access organizations.

In addition, he/she will provide strategic guidance through participation in key associations (medical, clinical, industry) to influence policy and regulations regarding medical devices.

Reporting into the EMEA regional medical director (based in Germany), the Medical Director Nordics,interacts closely with in regional local staff and may lead dedicated medical affairs manager(s).

The Ideal Profile:

  • Medical Doctor , preferably with a Board certification and specialization in endocrinology / diabetes care.

  • Hands-on experience in the management of patient with diabetes.

  • Relevant management experience in medical device / pharma / consulting / payers or other relevant organization in the Scandinavian health care system.

  • Knowledge of clinical research, medical risk management and/or medical device regulations is preferred.

  • Team oriented with the confidence, maturity and integrity to work effectively as a member of one of the top companies in the medical device industry.

  • High personal integrity and ethics required.

  • Excellent communication/organization skills required.

  • Fluent in English and either Swedish/Danish/Norwegian/Finnish
