The Front Line Leader is responsible for directing and controlling all facets of the manufacturing department including making slurries, ingredient weighing, blending, pasteurization and heat treatment of all liquid Abbott Nutritional products manufactured in the plant. The primary responsibilities of this position are to coordinate the manufacturing of high quality finished product at appropriately staffed levels and material variances, while ensuring the safety of all employees, maintaining a high level of positive employee relations and operating within approved budgetary guidelines.
o Assures compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, safety, and human resources
o Assures that production schedules are formulated to maximize plant advantage and ensure schedules are met
o Responsible for the accuracy of the documentation required for production
o Assists in implementation of improvement projects as assigned by the Department Manager
o Provides leadership and valuable participation in team activities that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the Plant
o Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels (this includes assuring communications to Department Manager between shifts and to related departments)
o Directs daily and monthly shift communication meetings
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be knowledgeable of general functions/operations of the equipment. Supervisor must be knowledgeable of the direct expense budget formation and overtime accountability. 4-year degree in Business, Manufacturing or Technical field.
o Directly selects, trains and supervises employees, assures employees understand duties/responsibilities and reviews employee performance against established expectations and company policies
o Reviews and/or initiates all personnel/organizational changes for the respective shift
o Coaches, develops and mentors employees in area of responsibility
o Develops growth plans, interprets, implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs
o Assigns tasks to direct staff
