Abbott Customer Service and Telesales Specialist in Sydney, Australia

An exciting and new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Customer Service / Telesales professional to support our newly created Pharmacy Retail team within Abbott Nutrition! The role will encompass responsibilities spanning across both customer service (inbound calls) and telesales to Retail Pharmacy customers (outbound calls).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To liaise with customers, Finance, Production, Distribution, Service and Sales departments to facilitate the timely and efficient provision of products and services.

  • To manage the territory for Nutrition products within the retail pharmacy channel to ensure sales targets are met through development of key relationships with Pharmacy accounts, Pharmacists as well as Pharmacy assistants in order to grow, maintain and protect the Nutrition business.

  • To develop targeted strategies that will proactively address competitor activity and market trends.

  • To represent the company and introduce its products to allocated accounts within a territory to achieve and exceed sales targets.

  • Answer customer telephone enquiries, orders, service needs and complaints, respond where appropriate or direct to relevant area.

  • Maintain current knowledge of the company's products and services.

  • Ensure all Customer Service activities including documentation and record keeping, comply with local and international requirements, and all legal and ethical standards, and meet quality system requirements.

  • Report all customer complaints and service requirements to appropriate personnel, in a timely and efficient manner, entering details onto system and following up where necessary in order to minimise customer dissatisfaction.

  • Liaise with sales, distribution, finance and service departments to ensure timely delivery of product to customers.

  • Maintain relevant, accurate and accessible records

  • Plan territory call to achieve targets while targeting high sales areas for maximum growth.

  • Achieve agreed daily territory coverage fundamentals including: Customer call reach (Pharmacists, Pharmacy assistants & other institution adm staff). Expectation is minimum 15 calls average per day.

  • Provide territory coverage plans and sales reports as required, including maintaining contact manager.

  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.

  • Produce a monthly territory Forecast for new business opportunities (and for current business) with existing and potential clients including competitive threats to existing business.

  • Maintain close relationships with key accounts throughout their organization from Key Decision Makers (KDM's) in Pharmacy groups. Ensure their requirements are being met by the company's products. Appraise current and planned customer needs and advise on the application of company products and services to customer requirements.

  • Manage expenses within set budgets.

  • Coordinate with Management on product supply inventory requirements

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with PC use.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Computer literacy - esp. MS Office programs

  • Demonstrated experience in high level sales and negotiation across a varied customer base with strong close of business and maintenance of accounts.

  • 5+ years' experience in a Customer Service sales role and at least 3+ year sales experience in the pharmacy sales, with clear demonstration of strong sales achievement records and innovative sales strategies .
