An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Health Care Professional Liaison Manager to support our fast-growing business within Diabetes Care.

Reporting to the Scientific Affairs Manager, this position is responsible for building and improving the engagement of the Diabetes business with Key Accounts, Key Opinion Leaders and relevant professional peak bodies in assigned territories Australia-wide.

The role will work with the Scientific Affairs Manager and marketing to establish FreeStyle Libre data and the Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) as a standard of care for diabetes management Australia-wide.

The main aspects of this role include:

  • Assure consistent sales growth and achievement of sales goals and targets by identifying opportunities to drive broader adoption and support for Abbott's Diabetes Care (ADC) products by HCPs and relevant professional bodies.

  • Develop and manage new business strategies and opportunities to achieve targets through the identification and attraction of new customers and/or the expansion of existing major accounts.

  • Engage with KOLs and key HCPs to drive adoption of FreeStyle Libre onto hospital protocols

  • Carry out sales calls, targeting high sales areas for maximum efficiency.

  • Field travel; troubleshooting. Respond to technical queries from internal stakeholders on products and disease as well as from customers

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity in assigned territory.

  • Maintain close relationships with key accounts, and ensure their requirements are being met by the company's products where possible. Appraise current and planned customer needs and advise on the application of company products and services to customer requirements.

  • Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure brand objectives, strategies and tactics translate over to Key Account/KOL engagement goals and strategies.

  • Represent Abbott in a professional manner that aligns with company image, ensuring activities comply with legal and ethical standards.

  • Liaise with marketing and sales staff, industry associations, government bodies and others, to ensure new business opportunities are identified and followed through; develop strategic plans to achieve new business targets, as directed.

  • Scientific/Local Industry Meetings/tradeshows/ workshops/booth support: Identify speakers; drive ADC presence to support workshops and symposia; participate actively in congresses.

  • Attend regular departmental meetings with manager/supervisor to build in continuous feedback mechanisms.

In addition to the above, the relevant experience is required:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification or Medical/Paramedical certification eg. PhD, science, nursing or health care related qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and working understanding of the hospital and diabetes outpatient clinic landscape is desirable. An ability to leverage this information to drive sales performance is critical.

  • An ability to identify, partner with and leverage HCP and KOL relationships is critical. A history of demonstrating these capabilities and outcomes is essential.

  • Strong influencing skills
