As an Staff/Senior Engineer, you will be a part of an operations engineering technical staff consisting of experts in many areas like Jboss, MQ, Liferay, Tomcat, CA siteminder, Azure, Linux, Network, Database, Chef etc. You will be tasked to deploy, support Azure services by building next generation Azure solution for an upcoming product. You will also contribute to our existing operations which includes managing several java applications, support middleware technologies, continuous automation, contribute to DevOps and participate in quality, compliance, security initiatives.

The Remote Care Operations Engineering team provides a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where engineers work closely to provide remote care software services to patients and physicians. You will collaborate with other expert engineers in Operations, DevOps, Development, IT and our Product engineering team to continue finding new areas that can be improved by bringing a DevOps/Innovative mindset to other product offerings. Position requirements:

Core requirements:

  • Experience with Azure Cloud platform such as implementing, configuring and tuning virtual private/public clouds

  • Participate in defining microservices infrastructure from inception and design, through deployment, operation and continuous refinement

  • Experience in DevOps with configuration management tool experience (Chef, Git)

  • Experience in middleware, java application operations administration. This includes install, configure, troubleshoot, and deploy applications in an enterprise middleware (Jboss, MQ, Liferay, Tomcat, CA siteminder, Azure etc) environment

  • Experience with application load balancing solutions for scaling and HA Experience with Bash, Python, Ruby, PowerShell

  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g. filesystems, inodes, system calls, etc) or networking (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, network topologies)

  • Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems

  • Responsible for providing 24/7 on-call coverage on a rotating basis and has experience supporting external-facing production environment

  • Ability to drive projects end-to-end and excel with minimal technical supervision, while embracing reliability constraints and proactiveness

  • Capacity to multitask and give equal attention to a variety of functions while under pressure

  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive

  • Experience with application performance testing, analysis, and tuning. Extremely comfortable with the Java language and ecosystem. Are comfortable with the standard tools for measuring and tuning performance, how to debug or troubleshoot Java-based applications, have an understanding of the Java memory model, and have experience with concurrency and multi-threaded code.

  • Well organized, attentive to details and able to meet demanding deadlines

  • The ability to interact, develop, engineer and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with customers, vendors, partners, and all members of staff is required. Continual knowledge transfer, training and mentoring of more junior staff is expected.

Good to have:

  • Experience setting up application monitoring a plus

  • Experience with testing tools, such as SoapUI, LoadUI, LoadComplete, LoadNinja a plus

  • Familiarity with logging tools, such as GrayLog, Splunk a plus

  • Knowledge and experience complying with various security standards and best practices

  • Conduct compliance assessments and audits for standards such as HIPAA, SOC2, in conjunction with the security team

  • Proficiency with SQL queries and database technologies such as Oracle

  • Track record of documenting processes, procedures and best practices, succinctly

  • Ability to apply systematic approach to solve problems with a sense of ownership and focus
