Abbott Country Manager Israel - Established Pharmaceuticals Division in Tel Aviv, Israel

Main Purpose:

As part of the Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD), execute the commercial strategy in Israel, manage the commercial operations and lead the local team to achieve sales plan, margin, objectives and market share goals Lead the business development activities to ensure future growth and direction for new business opportunities, facilitate an environment that encourages and recognizes success and results of both team and individual levels.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Sales:

  • Develop and Implement the sales and marketing strategy

  • Actively seek, identify, analyze and exploit new business opportunities (acquisitions, licensing-in, co-promotion, co-marketing, new product introduction…)

  • Develop and strengthen relationship with key customers (distributors, sick funds, pharmacy chains…)

  • Ensure Abbott code of conduct and local regulations are fully implemented

  • Develop and implement sales force effectiveness (SFE)

  • S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process - Lead on a monthly basis undertaking relevant regional KPIs

Marketing:

  • Formulate marketing strategies in cooperation with marketing teams and ensure execution of marketing plans

  • Ensure robust plan is in place for new product launches and ensure successful execution

  • Ensure all business activities comply with the relevant acts, legal demands and ethical standards

  • Benchmark industry practices (competitors) and other affiliates marketing programs.

  • Manage inventory of products and make sure to reduce the DOH (Days on Hand) but being careful not to have a shortfall for key product groups.

Commercial:

  • Determine project/assignment requirements by breaking them down into tasks and identifying types of equipment, materials, and people needed

  • Ensure optimal relationship with distributors and Ministry of Health (MOH) when it comes to timely orders, inventory level and in-market sales report

  • Follow up industry trends and changes in health care reforms that will impact the business favorably or unfavorably, anticipate opportunities or problems

  • Integrate information from a variety of sources from the local pharma market; detect trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships

People Management:

  • Provide direction to facilitate goal setting process in line with corporate and division goals; monitor progress; measure results; reward incentive/ merit payments; performance appraisals

  • Prepare training and growth plan for direct reports; plan and follow-up training

  • Develop subordinates to facilitate succession planning

Additional areas of responsibilities:

  • Regulatory: Direct the local regulatory efforts and lobby in person with the MOH

  • Government Affairs: create network with key stakeholders

  • Finance - Full P&L management on an affiliate level utilizing support from affiliate and regional finance teams

Minimum qualifications:

  • Qualifications in a Science and/or Business Discipline

  • Minimum 5 years in a Sales and Marketing management

  • Experience in the Pharma industry

  • Experience in Multi National company

  • Minimum one role that included people management

  • Languages: Hebrew (native), English (fluent)

  • Personal network with all sick-funds/HMOs and MoH

  • Tender management abilities

  • Experienced in negotiations with key stake holders

Preferred qualifications / experience:

  • Previous experience in Business Development

  • Skill set: Entrepreneur, Strategic, Driver, Ambitious, Teambuilder, Entrepreneurship

  • Comprehensive industry knowledge

  • Experience in the food supplements/medical food business
