Abbott AGP Sell Specialist - Japan in Tokyo, Japan

Primary Function

  • Develop and execute strategies and action plans to enhance doctors’ use of AGP for better diabetes control in the area in charge

  • Set up AGP position as a standardized care

  • Support sales team, with any scientific/ clinical-related requests, and objections/ complaints handling to build strong product credibility and ensure continuous use of the product

  • Educate reps to effectively promote AGP and handle common scientific/technology objections

Core Job Responsibilities:

List the primary tasks or activities this job performs

  • Develop and execute strategies/action plan to enhance AGP usage in accordance with ADC Japan strategy

  • Monitor progress and revisit strategies/action plan

  • Educate KOLs/ROLs in the area in charge with value of AGP and our product, and accelerate the AGP and product usage

  • Develop AGP use cases with KOLs/ROLs

  • Partner with sales team, organize and lead block level peer to peer case sharing sessions, and HCP seminars to enhance AGP usage in the area in charge

  • Raise AGP awareness in HCP, and accelerate software download/use in HCP

  • Co-visit HCPs with sales rep to discuss and enhance clinical application of AGP

  • Organize expert panel for AGP, and develop AGP consensus statement

  • Partner with Scientific Affair and clinical team, search for global and local publications to help promote our product value and handle objections

  • Partner with Scientific Affair, support KOL management in the area in charge

  • Co-visit influential doctors in the area in charge with sales rep to solve any technical / scientific questions and enhance product usage in broader patient pool

  • Monitor competitors’ claim and develop counter-action

  • Conduct knowledge management on challenging questions from customers and continuously help improve challenging question/complaints handling process

  • Conduct sales reps training for effective use of AGP cases and key publications in align with marketing message. Contribute to increase scientific knowledge of sales team

Minimum Skills Required:

Identify the specific skills needed to perform this job effectively (leadership skills, selling skills, computer literacy)

Experience and technical skills:

  • Relevant HCP management experience:

  • Gained from a reputable pharma or a medical device company

  • New concept selling

  • Scientific/clinical knowledge in diabetes area

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

  • Strong problem solving skill

  • English, business level preferred

Knowledge / Education Required:

Identify the knowledge, expertise, educational level required to perform this job successfully (product/industry knowledge, technical/business acumen, degree, professional certification etc)

  • Required Education - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with preferred concentration in Medical or Pharmaceutical science

  • Preferred Education - Advanced degree in Medical or Pharmaceutical science from a reputable university

Experience Required:

Describe the on the job experience level required to perform this job (management experience)

  • 7+ years / preferred 10+ years of experience as Scientific Affairs or related role

  • 3+ years of experience in a diabetes area

Accountability

  • Development of AGP consensus statement

  • Development of AGP use cases

  • Action plan to enhance doctors’ usage of AGP

  • AGP awareness and software usage
