We have an entry level position in our payroll department!

Primary Job Function:

Provide payroll support on an accurate and timely basis with minimal supervision. Some responsibilities include: process weekly payroll for numerous US tax entities, execute tax payments, reconcile quarter for payroll tax returns, research tax notices, prepare and communicate corrected W-2s.

Perform accounting functions, including monthly reconciliations, for payroll related processes on an accurate and timely basis with minimal supervision.

Assist payroll tax team with weekly and quarterly reconciliation processes.

Develop recommendations/processes in support of account reconciliations.

Coordinate monthly and year-end journal entry processing for payroll.

Resolve routine payroll accounting related inquiries from within Abbott.

Maintain complete and accurate information as required by internal and external auditors.

Provide customer service including resolution of routine and complex payroll-related inquiries from internal Abbott to external vendors including all levels of support (i.e. Sr. Management, Employee).

Execute against established timelines and priorities.

Demonstrate an ability to resolve issues within the scope of their daily assignments and work in a team environment.

Comply with established payroll policies and Corporate Finance Manual (CFM).

Individual must be able to work well under stringent time parameters.

Individual will have no supervisory or management responsibilities.

Position may be filled as a Grade 12 or Grade 14 depending on the level of experience.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

1-2+ years of payroll experience is an medium to large corporation or internships is preferred

Payroll Tax experience and Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
