This position is accountable for designing, developing, and delivering solutions to complex projects or significant portions of programs in support of solution development activities for current medical device products within the percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) space.
Research, develop, design, and evaluate electrical components, assemblies, materials, processes and/or equipment
Investigate issues and define root causes in complex electro-mechanical systems
Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality
Maintain traceable documentation throughout all phases of development
Review and coordinate activities with vendors to support ongoing production
Lead others in the execution of work; applying expertise and mentorship
Often required to exercise independent judgment
Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineering) or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
6+ years of Engineering or an equivalent work experience
Medical device or regulated industry experience IS REQUIRED.
Experience with electrical components and PCA design
Knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of engineering disciplines, theories and concepts, to support development of innovative approaches to problem solving
Technically savvy; must be able to discuss, understand and make decisions regarding a wide array of engineering disciplines and complex technical issues
In depth knowledge and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in related field of expertise to develop innovative approaches to problem solve and deliver final results
Understanding of quality systems and regulations used for medical device design and manufacturing
Good working knowledge of change management process (development as well as operations)
Effective communication and ability to cooperate with others as a team leader or as part of a team
Knowledge of and ability to design reliable and innovative electro-mechanical systems and disposables for medical device products
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Proficient in Design FMEA/FMECA and Design Verification and Validation activities
Understands the importance of schedule driven projects
Proven track record of successfully meeting strict deadlines
Familiarity with physiology and/or fluid dynamics
Experience with catheter design and electrical components of catheters
Project Management experience a plus
Experience with Solid Works
Application of statistical and analytical methods such as DOE and capability analysis
