The Global Planning Organization in EPD plays a central, pivotal role in Supply Chain Planning, by managing and balancing demand, supply, production capacity and inventories, in order to serve our customers and patients. Our close collaboration with worldwide Abbott manufacturing plants, Contract Manufacturing partners and Active Ingredient suppliers is key in our success.

Brand Supply Chain Manager (BSCM)
With the potential and ambition to grow in a leadership role.
The BSCM is responsible to provide coordination and oversight for end-2-end Demand, Supply and Inventories for assigned strategic product(s). Next to that, the BSCS is responsible to overlook and coordinate various (operational) processes between Global Planning and our main Contract Manufacturers, including monitoring and improving performance.
The BSCM will be part of a small sub-team of Supply Chain Planners, working on short-term Purchase Order management, issue resolution, and detailed mid-term Replenishment Planning.
The BSCM interfaces with a variety of functions within Abbott: Finance, Regulatory, Marketing, Affiliates, Manufacturing, and QA, to translate customer demand into comprehensive production demand, replenishment and inventory plans.
Tasks and responsibilities
Understand and support demand changes from monthly published commercial forecast and proactively report demand analysis results.
Meet with Division Commercial operations and local affiliates to challenge and understand forecasts.
Coordination of New Product Introductions and Label changes for assigned suppliers
Proactively identify, avoid and resolve product backorders.
Meet Regularly with Global Product Managers to review and implement coherent operations strategies.
Accountable for providing weekly/monthly Replenishment forecast to assigned suppliers
Manage shortage of supplies and provide business impact and mitigation scenarios.
Ensure close collaboration & communication with suppliers.
Accountable to issue on-time PO’s to the assigned suppliers and maintenance of this PO portfolio.
Provide Long Range Plan and capacity analysis for assigned products.
Responsible to monitor and improve supplier performance, reporting of results and provide appropriate CAPA.
Maintain Supplier Agreements with supply chain partners.
Provide (internal) customers and suppliers with pro-active information about any change in supply and/or shipments plans. Coordinate action plans to align demand and supply.
Lead Demand & Operational Planning meetings and Management Review Meetings, involving Senior Management.
Provide a leadership role in establishing global inventory strategies across the supply chain of the franchise(s). Drive inventory investment decisions
Provides inventory projections/Last Best Estimates for assigned product portfolio.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels within the nodes of Supply Chain in scope of the Supply Chain Planner.
Manage any slow or non-moving inventory to avoid obsolescence.
Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve risks to customer service as quickly as possible.
Create and maintain planning parameters in SAP.
Responsible for providing (Master Data) input for new material creations in SAP.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal EPD stakeholders, (third party) manufacturing plants, and regional counterparts.
Assure compliance with local and Abbott policies and procedures.
Manage, participate and/or support projects, including re-sourcing strategies.
Drive continues improvement.
Represent Supply Chain in cross-functional meetings.
Manage weekly and monthly KPI reporting & (short) interval control reports.
Create/Maintain critical Product or Supplier Information as per agreed templates/tools.
At least Bachelors Degree (level) in: Supply Chain Management, Production Operations, Logistics Management, Business Administration.
At least 3 to 5 years working experience in a similar (international) environment, and demonstrated experience in the areas of: production scheduling, demand planning, capacity utilization and/or inventory planning. Preferably experience with SAP Planning modules.
Proven self-starter, working independently on complex cross functional issues and projects, in a matrix organization. Experienced in managing top brands and/or key (third party) manufacturing sites with high (management) exposure.
